Written by

In between all the controversies and court cases, there is something more to rejoice and celebrate for rapper Yo Yo Honey Singh who has become the first individual in the entertainment and music segment from India to cross 100,000 subscribers on his YouTube channel.

The channel includes most of his music videos, live performances and concert videos.

YouTube has played a very important role in ensuring the music I create reach global audience and helps in collecting quick feedback from the music lovers worldwide. I try to go through all the comments which my fans post on my channel and that is what motivates me to work even better for next releases.

A few months back, Singh’s video Brown Rang was also declared the top trending video by YouTube India for the year 2012.

Recently one of the viewer named DabanggKalra commented on one of my videos in my RAP style “Main teregeet da pyaasa, Tere YouTube channel chmeriyaanaaasaa, Kadon hone ne upload, Honey Singh Rap banaadeyaar” The credit for the various benchmarks on YouTube and other digital platforms goes out to all such fans of mine who keep me going.

One Digital Entertainment chief operating officer Gurpreet Singh says

It is always great to work with artists who understand the power of Digital Platforms and are open to experiment with them. Honey Singh’s huge fan base and the awesome music he creates combined with the best practices implemented on his digital strategy has made him the fastest growing and most viewed artist on YouTube in India.

Honey Singh was also recently invited to YouTube Space, LA to feature in a promotional video along with the other big YouTube stars from various countries, and has also been working on a bollywood number for upcoming Bollywood movie Zaalim Dilli. Fans are also eagerly awaiting the release of Bebo featuring Alfaaz.

Gurpreet Singh says

YouTube wanted to shoot a promotional video in LA to promote Social Star Awards featuring artists from different countries who have made it big on YouTube and from India it had to be Honey Singh because of the viewership and subscriber base he alone is able to generate on the platform. The promotional video is now out as well on YouTube and it is a treat being part of such collaborative content creation with talent from across the globe.

The rapper has been accused of singing vulgar lyrics and has been facing strict actions from Punjab and Haryana Court.

To further prove he is a worldwide star, on Sunday 26th May 2013 his Facebook Page surpassed 4million followers.
