Bhangra Thursdays, as they have been dubbed by many, this week sees a two-horse race develop between Manak-E & Kaos Production with ‘Time Naal‘ and PBN’s ‘Saa Charju‘. Here we have two distinctly different tracks, yet both have the mass appeal to catapult them to dancefloor success and anthem status. As things stand Manak-E has taken the crown as Number 1 on the iTunes World Chart, for some reason or another PBN’s ‘Saa Charju’ doesnt seem to appear on the charts.
PBN’s ‘Saa Charju’ takes off where ‘Fitteh Moo‘ left off, a sequel that continues the trend of dance off’s between Boys and Girls. This time instead of Balwinder Bhatti and Gurlej Akhtar on the vocals, PBN has teamed up with Sazi Judge, famed for her stint on BritAsia TV Superstar. The million dollar question is will it have the cutting edge that “Fitteh Moo” had? Only time will tell.[image src=”http://media2.chakdey.com/Images/TimeNaalVsSaaCharju.jpg” width=”600″ height=”300″ title=”Time Naal Vs Saa Charju” lightbox=”yes” align=”center”]
Manak-E on the other hand has used ‘Time Naal’ to launch his first single under VIP Records. Many Youtube users caught on to the opinion that it evidently bears a passing resemblance to Manni Sandhu’s ‘Door Ni Kulne‘. We believe it’s a wise yet crafty step to appeal to the same market, however the duo of Amo and Lakhi at Kaos Productions bring something different to the table with their production, giving it a refreshing feel.
Amo Hayer has stated earlier that “It is a song that actually has depth with a concept, storyline and great video by Guvy Heer… Chart positions and all that are not relevant in my mind…i just want people to enjoy music myself and laki hayer create”
With neither track having had its online video premiere until late Thursday evening, the battle has fallen in the hands of the audience and social networking sites. Despite Twitter’s down time earlier on, the fans have created the hype for Manak-E’s ‘Time Naal‘ with the hashtag “#ShittarPaenGeh” which had many people posting hilarious situations! It is positive to see both camps receiving tweets from genuine fans who appreciate their music and have not been force-fed the music.
