Multi-faceted Canadian artist J-Raj is set to release his first single for 2014 titled ‘Parra Hoke Nach‘. By combining elements of anthemic house synths and electro basslines with Desi folk melodies and rhythms, Parra Hoke Nach delivers a flavorful blend of the best of both worlds. The song takes you on a journey depicting the courting of a beautiful, youthful woman by her admirer praising her dancing skills and nuances of her attitude. The world-sound that J-Raj and Surjit have captivated is sure to prove sitting still to be difficult!
No stranger to the world of Desi urban music, and possibly one of the most influential vocalists for the Bhangra-fusion scene, Surjit Sagar adds an ‘X-Factor’ to the track with his high-energy folk desi voice. Having taken an extended hiatus from the UK bhangra scene after hits like ‘Ranjhana‘ and ‘Patlay Patlay‘ of RDB fame, Surjit clearly showcases his abilities as an evergreen artist.
Last year, J-Raj released the hot remix of the 90s Bollywood track ‘Ole Ole‘ last year featuring the award-winning duo JoSH as well as the official remix for their hit single “Meri Dua“. Describing his style of music as “EDM and pop fusion with authentic folk elements” this release is the first single from his forthcoming EP set to release this summer. Coupling that with his exciting new DJ residency in downtown Toronto (More info to come soon!) you can expect to hear the name J-Raj much more this year!
