Currently burning up the charts with his debut single, new-kid-on-the-block Nick Sahota tells Chakdey.Com what he’s all about!
1. Introduce yourself…
My name is Harnake Sahota aka Nick Sahota. I’m from Southampton; however I wish I could say I was raised in the pind but unfortunately I wasn’t! An interesting fact about me is that I’m VERY well house trained by my one and only mother…
2. Why did you get into making music?
Probably because I’ve always had a passion for music– as have all my family especially, my father and two brothers. They’ve had a big influence on the type of music I like and always encouraged me to further and develop my talent.
3. What do you think makes you different?
I feel I’m different in the sense that while doing music I am also heavily focused on getting my degree in Software Engineering; a subject which I actually love! Another difference is that I’m from a fairly small town down south as opposed to the singers from the Midlands and London where musical opportunities are easier to come by.
4. What’s your favourite track right now?
For an Indian release I’d pick the folked up “Yenkne” by Sharry Maan. Nearer to home, it’s got to be Jaz Dhami’s “Meh Punjabi Boli Ah”.
5. What’s your current/upcoming release?
