As great as Malkit is, it goes to show that unfortunately Punjabi music hasn’t progressed much in terms of everlasting talent. Even this song, mimics the baseline of a traditional boli to which the DJ is credited for and collabs with surprise, surprise, a older punjabi singer. No attack on traditional punjabi music, its the best, but how is this particular song any more unique than the last one? There is no sense of ingenuity anymore. As a culture, simply mimicking the past doesn’t preserve it.
