Ever since I can remember, Ustad Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan Sahib was always broadcasted in my house. Hailing from a British-Pakistani family, it was part and parcel of our upbringing to have the Folk Lok Geet of Pakistan embedded in our musical knowledge, whether that was Pakistani Pop, Qawwali, Sufi Kalaam or Pakistani Rock. However, Ustad Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan was one individual who transcended physical, geographical, cultural and most importantly emotional boundaries.
